The Nasher Sculpture Garden and Art Museum is located in the heart of downtown Dallas.

Travertine, load-bearing walls divide the museum building’s interior space into five identical rectangular pavilions.

A system of very refined aluminium castings is anchored between the upper parts of these massive walls to screen the glass roof below allowing only direct light from the north to filter through.

With its classically simple plan, the texture and look of the travertine, and the enclosed sunken sculpture garden, the Nasher seems like an archaeological find amongst the skyscrapers.
